NEPA and FERC Compliance Services
Management of projects requiring federal approvals under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is a particular strength of Petros Environmental Group. Services include tasks relating to development of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DNA) and Categorical Exclusions (CX), as well as management of various field surveys required for the NEPA compliance process. Oil and gas NEPA experience includes approvals for geophysical surveys, exploratory and field development drilling projects, gathering pipeline systems, and transmission pipelines and pipeline corridors. Petros maintains excellent relations with various offices and staff of the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and Bureau of Indian Affairs to speed project approval and to optimize the development of legally defensible NEPA documents.
Petros principals and associated firms also have experience with compliance for jurisdictional natural gas pipeline projects approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Services include project planning for compliance with FERC, environmental report preparation, NEPA EAs, and post-approval compliance with FERC requirements.
